6 Silver Fox Aug. 15 Homer's very own Joyanna Geisler pulled out a tagged fish worth $500 on Sunday while fishing aboard the "Whistler" with skipper Gary Ault.
Meanwhile, Aug. 15 was a productive day on the fishing grounds as at least three fish over 200 pounds were weighed in at the derby scale. Paul Lemek kept his top spot for August, while Clayton McDowell of Eagle River is still the overall leader with a 347-pound fish. Derby tickets are $10 and can be found at many Homer businesses.
