Homer Head Start offers two programs for children from ages 3-5. A preschool center-based option allows children to attend from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The home-based option allows children to participate in weekly learning activities with a visiting teacher in the home, plus attend a center-based activity with other children and families every other Friday.

Head Start is committed to providing youngsters with fun, child-centered learning opportunities that foster social, emotional, physical and cognitive development. Healthy meals are served and the curriculum has a nutrition and health focus. Families and community members are welcomed and invited to volunteer at Head Start. Programs are offered at no cost to qualifying families. All are encouraged to apply, including children with disabilities.
