Keeper says thanks to volunteers

On Aug. 11, Cook Inlet Keeper held its eighth annual volunteer appreciation party to thank all the water quality monitors and other volunteers who have made the Keeper program so effective. Keeper’s annual “Splash Bash” was once again a resounding success thanks to several gracious contributions.

The board and staff of the Cook Inlet Keeper extend sincere thanks to: Two Sisters Bakery, Latitude 59, Kachemak Shellfish Growers Co-op, Old Inlet Bookstore and Mermaid Café, Homer’s Jeans, Fat Olives Pizza, K-Bay Café, Fritz Creek General Store, Nomar, Spit Sisters, Amped Café, Ulmer’s Drug, Red Pepper Kitchen, Kachemak Gear Shed, Scruggs Automotive, Islands and Ocean Gift Store, The Pratt Museum, Solstice Music, Kate Kuhns Aquatic Center, North Country Charters, Homer Brewing Company, Cutthroat Bluegrass, and, of course, all the volunteers and supporters who took time to come by and share in the fun.

It is the generosity and commitment of businesses and individuals like these that make our community such a great place to live.

Ingrid Harrald, volunteer coordinator
