Violet is named for her lovely shade of blue eyes. Her owners brought her to the animal shelter because they had too many cats, however.
Violet is a Tortie Point Siamese a type of Colorpoint Shorthair, which actually is a first cousin of regular Siamese cats. Colorpoints were bred to show 16 different colors beyond the four colors seen in regular Siamese.
If you’d like to adopt a pet, call or stop by the Animal Shelter across from Public Works off the Sterling Highway. The shelter is open seven days a week, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call 235-3141 for more information.
Violet is a very friendly and very affectionate young cat and gets along well with other cats. She also loves people and regularly strikes up kitty conversations with human visitors when they walk into the room, although only the keenest of cat lovers will really understand her.
