"The Gathering," a gathering of Native tradition, is Sept. 3-4 at the Pratt Museum. Events include a reception for the Women of the North exhibit, events at the Homer Spit, a potluck at the Pratt, Native Youth Olympics demonstrations and cultural performances with Pamyua and Nanwalek and Port Graham singers and dancers. Kachemak Heritage Land Trust and Alaska Wildland Adventures offer a rafting trip down the Kenai River through the Kenai River Canyon on Sept. 6. The trip is $100 and benefits KHLT. Call 235-5263 to register.

The 20th Annual Coastwalk starts with a dessert potluck at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 9 at the Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies on Lake Street. Coastwalk runs through Sept. 26 and is a community project to monitor the shoreline of Kachemak Bay. Sign up to monitor a stretch of the shoreline. Call 235-6667
