Homer Alaska - Arts

Instructor Marie Alexson offers art classes for kids in grades kindergarten-2 and 3-6 starting Sept. 14 at the Homer Council on the Arts. Alexson is a certified K-8 art teacher with a highly qualified art license. Students explore the media of clay, pastels and watercolor, learn about art history, craft works of art out of recycled materials and items from the natural world, and learn and incorporate elements of design principles into their art. The fee is $60 for a six-class series. K-2 classes meet Tuesdays from 1:30-2:30 p.m. or 3:30-4:30 p.m. Grades 3-6 meet Thursdays from 1:30-2:30 p.m. or 3:30-4:30 p.m. To register, call 235-4288.
