Library holds writing, book events
The Friends of the Homer Public Library holds several events during the week. From 4:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the library, Cecilia Worth facilitates a discussion of Barbara Ehrenreich's "Nickel and Dimed," an examination of low-income American workers. Copies are available at the Homer Bookstore. The library's monthly book club meets the second Tuesday of each month, with a schedule of upcoming books at the library or the Homer Bookstore. For more information, call Worth at 235-1348.
Worth also runs this month's Writers Workshop at 6 p.m. Sept. 10 at the library. Worth focuses on exploration and play in writing. Participants will work on short, in-class free writes, exercises that are fun, unique and imagination-provoking. Bring preferred writing materials: pens, paper, laptop computers, etc. All welcome; refreshments will be served.
