Media trends workshop planned for Sept. 12 Chamber to host forum, seeks board nominations

Land's End Resort and Homer Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a seminar titled "Media Trends in Business Workshop -- Social Media: Get cutting edge, free or low cost media working for you."

The workshop will be from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sept. 12 at Land's End. Cost is $69 per person or $49 with a room.

Speakers includ Kristen Lindsey of Apokrisis: Web Design and Internet Marketing; Scott McMurren of Alaska Travel Gram, Alaska Travel Newsletter and TourSaver; Bob Kaufman of Alaska Channel; and Aliza Sherman, a Web pioneer, e-marketing expert, author, speaker, producer and blogger.

The conference will help businesses learn more about social media such as Twitter and Facebook.
