City candidates, proposition featured at chamber luncheons

The public is invited to hear city of Homer mayoral candidates James Hornaday, the city's current mayor, and Doug Stark, formerly council member, who will be featured during the Homer Chamber of Commerce weekly noon meeting at the Best Western Bidarka Inn on Tuesday.
Also featured will be city council candidates and current council members Mary E. "Beth" Wythe and Bryan Zak. Wythe and Zak each are running unopposed for three-year council terms.
The following Tuesday, Sept. 14, the public also is invited to hear a spokesperson for the Kenai Peninsula Borough School Board discuss Proposition No. 1, educational capital improvement general obligation bonds, at the chamber's noon meeting at the Bidarka Inn.
The candidates and the proposition will be on the Oct. 5 ballot.
Lunch for chamber members is $12, for nonmembers, $14.
