Aug. 30

A restaurant employee at 8:16 a.m. reported a drunk man caused a disturbance at a Pioneer Avenue business. Police issued a 20-year-old man a trespass notice from the restaurant and charged him with habitual minor consuming alcohol.

A man at 10:43 a.m. reported a man selling drugs in the area.

Several callers at 11:30 a.m. called about a Facebook posting regarding an unknown man approaching children in Homer.

Police at 4:18 p.m. received a 911 call with an open line from a Klondike Avenue home. Police responded and contacted a woman whose small child fell and hurt his head.

A woman at 4:54 p.m. reported the location of a man alleged to be involved in a Facebook posting. Police responded and determined the identity was incorrect.

Aug. 31

A woman at 7:36 p.m. reported a boy out of control. A parent took the boy to the hospital.

A man at 8:15 p.m. reported people removed an item from the yard of a local business. The alleged victim declined prosecution.

Sept. 1

A caller at 5:22 p.m. reported a driver on a motorcycle towing a person on a skateboard on Kachemak Way.

Sept. 2

A caller at 1:09 p.m. reported a possible disturbance at a Svedlund Avenue home. Police responded and arrested a 49-year-old man for assault.

A man at 7:49 p.m. reported a woman said she was being abused.

A caller at 10:34 p.m. reported a loud party at a Homer Spit campground. Police responded and arrested a 23-year-old man on a warrant for failure to appear in court.

Police at 3:02 a.m. contacted a 27-year-old man driving on the Sterling Highway and arrested him for driving under the influence.

A man at 9:58 a.m. reported two ATVs being driven on the Spit trail with runners on the path for a triathlon. Police responded but could not find the suspect ATV drivers.

Sept. 3

Police at 9:11 p.m. contacted a 37-year-old man driving on Pioneer Avenue and arrested him for DUI, driving while license suspended, no liability insurance and on an outstanding warrant.

Sept. 4

A person at 5:33 a.m. made a 911 call of a car crash on Pioneer Avenue. Police responded and arrested an 18-year-old woman for DUI.

A caller at 9:03 p.m. reported a vessel in distress off the Spit near Mile 3 Homer Spit Road. The caller then tried to cancel the call. Police responded but could not see a vessel or people in the area.

Several people at 11:24 p.m. made 911 calls of fireworks being shot off in the Fairview Avenue area. Police warned a man for shooting fireworks in violation of city and borough ordinances.

Sept. 5

A man at 8:24 a.m. made a 911 call that he found his 32-year-old son dead at a Main Street home. Police and EMTs responded.

A caller at 5 p.m. reported a shoplifter at a Sterling Highway store. Police responded and arrested a 20-year-old man for third-degree theft, minor consuming alcohol and violating conditions of release.
