Homer Alaska - Arts

Writers from kindergarten-age and older are invited to submit their fiction, nonfiction and poetry. Works will be judged in the following age groups: kindergarten-third grades, fourth-sixth grades, seventh-ninth grades, 10th-12th grades and open/adult.

Cash prizes will be awarded.

Each entry must be accompanied by an entry fee, which is $2 for the student categories and $5 for the open/adult categories. Entry forms must be completed online.

A two-tier system of judging will be used, and winners will be announced and selected entries published in the Homer News in February. Selected authors will be invited to read at a First Friday reception March 4 at the Homer Council on the Arts. For more details, see www.homernews.com.
