The director, Kathleen Gustafson, skillfully used two strengths of Dario Fo's play: slapstick humor and social commentary. All the actors did a great job, particularly the three main characters played by Nancy Chastain, Ken Landfield and Megan DeCino. Gustafson nicely adapted the play from the meltdown of the economy in Italy in the late 20th century to the possible downturn of the Homer economy in the 21st century.
I'm guessing that the Nobel Prize winner, Dario Fo, would enjoy seeing what Gustafson and the actors have done with his play. If you haven't seen it, see it this coming weekend because it's fun. It's also thought provoking for those of us who plan to think about the economy before we vote in November.
