Kachemak Heritage Land Trust celebrates moving to its new, permanent office at 315 Klondike Ave. with a grand opening barbecue and potluck from 5-8 p.m. Sept. 17. Call 235-5263.

Parks and Recreation Commission meets at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 18 at Homer City Hall.

South Peninsula Hospital and the Alaska Alzheimer's Resource Center of Anchorage sponsor the 2004 Amblin' for Alzheimer's Walk starting at 10 a.m. Sept. 18 at Homer City Hall. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m.

The annual Veterans Picnic for all Kenai Peninsula veterans is from noon-4 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Kenai National Guard Armory on South Forest Drive. An alcohol-free event, the picnic includes a barbecue, music, door prizes, line dances, games and prizes and information for veterans. Rides are available. Sponsored by Kenai Peninsula veterans organizations. Call 235-8864.
