Alma Maxine (Burke) Haga died peacefully in her sleep with her family by her side on Aug. 23, 2009. A memorial was held at 6 p.m. Sept. 4, 2009, at the Anchor Point Virl Haga VFW Post 10221.
Alma Haga was born Feb. 5, 1930. She worked on boats with her husband Virl, commercial fishing and running tenders in Alaska waters for many years. She loved hunting, Tri-Chem craft painting and crocheting, and was most noted for her exceptional weaving on her loom. She created many beautiful memories. Alma was a founding member of VFW Post 10221, named after her late husband.
She is survived by two sisters, Clara Chord and Bonnie Tonnessen; her sons, Jim, Jack and John; daughter, Janiece; nephew, Steve, and their families, including many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews all around the globe.
