One of the reasons Homer is such an amazing place to live is the benevolence expressed by so many people, businesses and the city. With such heartfelt support, Hospice of Homer is able to provide free of charge services to frail and isolated individuals as well as those who are experiencing end-stage illness or the transition process of dying.
On behalf of hospice, I want to recognize the city of Homer for its generous grant as well as The Homer Foundation for administering these grants and all the other things they do for the community. This grant was unrestricted funds, which are so important to small nonprofits like hospice. I also would like to recognize Unocal for its recent contribution, which will help support the training of hospice volunteers who in turn will serve our neighbors and family members. And lastly I would like to acknowledge Spenard Builders, Michael LeMay, Larry Smith, Dibble Creek Rock, Char and Bob Mayforth, Michael Craig, Vicki Allen, Ray and Kelly Clapp and Teena Garay for providing materials and expertise for the installation of memorial pavers at the Hospice of Homer Memorial Garden, WKFL Park. It takes many kind hearts to make a community. Thank you.
