Where are the cheerleaders?

How quiet it is at the football games in Homer. What is happening? We have many girls that would like to get out there and cheer, but I guess we have no cheerleading coach. Coming from a small town with a population of 970, we had a great football team with a fabulous cheerleading squad. I just find it hard to believe that a community the size of Homer (which is huge to me) can't find anyone to help. Thank goodness for the fans who supply their cowbells to ring loud over the field and the fans cheering.

I guess this is my first time every going to a school football game and not seeing cheerleaders. It just isn't quite right. I know there are a few of the girls who have cheered and have been cheering since pee wee football. Have we forgotten that cheerleading is a sport also?

Football and cheerleaders are like peanut butter and jelly, they are meant to be together. While grocery shopping in Safeway I did notice that they have some cheerleading dolls over by the floral department that you can activate and they actually do say a cheer. So I guess if anyone wants to see some cheerleaders at the games you may have to purchase one of the cheerleading dolls.
