Pet of the Week
photo: towncrier

Holstein
You can tell by his picture that Holstein is not a dairy cow. He's not a bovine, and he most certainly does not give any milk. But he has distinctive black-and-white markings that set him apart. His little heart-shaped black nose is particularly endearing. Holstein loves to sit in your lap, purr in your face and rub against your legs. He's definitely more affectionate than most cattle. So if you need some cold milk for your breakfast cereal, wander over to the store. But if you need some extra love winding its way around the legs of your table, meander over to the animal shelter and introduce yourself to Holstein.

If you'd like to adopt a pet, call or stop by the Animal Shelter on the Bypass across from the post office. The shelter is open seven days a week, 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. Call 235-3141, e-mail pow@homeranimals.com, or visit the shelter's Web site at www.homeranimals.com.
