Wild salmon on display
The Alaska Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development hosts “Changing Tides: Wild Alaska Salmon” 1:30-5:30 p.m., Oct. 11 at the Anchorage Sheraton Hotel. The event will focus on the successes, lessons learned and future of wild Alaska salmon.
State receives grants
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services awarded $75,000 to the Alaska Marine Safety Education Association for continuing education programs in commercial fishing safety training. Alaska groups and communities received more than $8 million in grants from federal agencies.
