Charities named for 'pick, click, give' gift

ANCHORAGE (AP) — More than 400 Alaska organizations will participate as recipients of charitable donations from residents filing for their 2012 Permanent Fund dividend.

Coordinators of the "Pick. Click. Give" program say the participants are nonprofit organizations, community foundations and University of Alaska campuses.

Alaskans who apply for dividends online are able to contribute part or all of it to organizations of their choice.

The program is coordinated through a partnership that includes the Rasmuson Foundation, Foraker Group and the Permanent Fund Division of the state Department of Revenue.

In 2012, the program will be in its fourth year.

Nearly 19,000 Alaskans pledged more than $1.5 million during the regular PFD filing season this year.

Gov. Sean Parnell announced Tuesday this year's PFD dividends to eligible residents will be $1,174.
