Anchor Point Chamber of Commerce
Due to lack of interest, the trade show scheduled for Oct. 14 has been canceled. Don’t forget the chamber’s birthday party on Oct. 14. There will be hors d’oeuvres, cake and door prizes starting at 7 p.m. at the Anchor River Inn. Live music starts at 9 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
The Oct.4 luncheon will feature Chris Fontaine representing the Kenai Peninsula Family Planning Clinic. In honor of October being “Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” she will present programs available for mammograms, as well as other health topics. Luncheons are at noon Wednesdays at the Anchor River Inn. The construction on the Community Club Building is coming along nicely. Before the skirting is put on, it was decided to have all the electrical equipment replaced and updated. Anyone who is interested in participating on the chamber’s board of directors, please call 235-2600.

Community News
The Anchor River Inn announces that Chef Mark Steven has returned.
Speaking of sports, did anyone watch Monday Night Football? Well, I was in front of the television in true amazement. The New Orleans Saints played Monday at their home dome. Matter of fact, the rest of the home games are sold out. It was great to see how far New Orleans has come with all the destruction it is trying to overcome from not so long ago. It’s so great to see a community come together. It is a reminder for all of us that when that saying comes around, “It takes a bridge,” that bridge is there. Hope you all have a great weekend.
