Freedom Walk a success

We would like to thank some very special people for making the first Freedom Walk in Homer a success. A very big thank you to Chief Mark Robl, Lt. Randy Rosencrans and Officer Ed Stading of the Homer Police Department for clearing the road for us; all units of the VFW Post 10221 in showing their colors and for the memorable honor guard salute.

Also, thanks go out to June Picard, chaplain for the Ladies Auxiliary Post 10221 for the prayer; the Anchor Point Chamber of Commerce for the use of their button maker; the members of American Legion Post 16 and the Elks Club with showing their support.

A big thank you to all of the participants who joined in our walk to remember those lost on Sept. 11, 2001, and their families and to honor and remember our past and present veterans. May they never be forgotten.
