South Peninsula Hospital offers a series of six, two-hour classes to help people with long-term health conditions learn ways to feel better and be less limited by their illness. People with all kinds of long-term conditions such as arthritis, asthma, diabetes, heart disease, and other illnesses can benefit. A spouse, family member, or friend is welcome to attend the classes with participants.

"The Living Well Alaska Training" is offered 6-830 p.m. Tuesdays, Oct. 4 through Nov. 8, at the hospital's Training Center at 203 Pioneer Ave. The cost is $10 for the six-week session. Registration is required and can be done by calling 235-0258.

Booth space is available for the 28th annual Health Fair, set for Saturday Nov. 12 from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Homer High School. Exhibitors are invited to provide learning centers, screenings, information, demonstrations or interactive activities to promote their message or service related to health. No sales are permitted at the fair. Booth space is free, and the deadline to reserve a space is Oct. 10.
