Council meets Monday
Homer City Council members plan to hear presentations from a representative from Homer Community School at its meeting Monday, 7 p.m. The borough school district will stop administering the program next summer, leaving the possibility that the program could end. Council members will also hear a presentation from the city manager and fire chief on the city’s disaster preparedness, and will consider an ordinance that could set new procedures for appeals. The new procedures could set fees for appeals, time limits, and help determine who can appeal and who cannot.
At its meeting last week, the council identified a new water treatment plant and a study of where to go for new sources of drinking water as its top capital projects in two lists headed to state funding authorities. The public can comment on the council’s priorities at the council’s Monday meeting.
