Forbes was an associate professor of English at Kenai Peninsula College and an active participant in peninsula performing arts, including Pier 1 Theatre. He was born Jan. 14, 1947 in Britton, S.D. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Alaska Methodist University, Anchorage, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Alaska Anchorage. Before teaching college, he taught at Kenai Central High School.
Forbes is survived by his wife, Lorrene, children Liam, Laura and Duncan; mother Norma, sisters Linda Lee and Roberta Jackson, and brothers James, Ray and Mark.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Performing Arts Society of KPC Sunday Showcase, Director's Office, Kenai Peninsula College, 34280 College Dr., Soldotna 99669, or to any performing arts organization on the peninsula.
