The Alaska Native Heritage Center in Anchorage is hosting the Second Annual World Music Festival on Oct. 29. It marks the beginning of the center’s winter season, when it is open to the public every Saturday from 10:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. with a different thing each week. The festival features performances by Pamyua with visiting artists from Denmark and Finland, solo Cissokho, Alma Andina, JoMaLa, El Combo Tropical Latino and the Alaska Native Heritage Center Dance Group. There also are a number of hands-on classes scheduled on such topics as Alaska Native dance, language and art.
