Upcoming Events




  • A Social Security Administration representative visits the Homer Senior Center from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 21.

  • Town Center Development Committee meets from 5-8 p.m. Oct. 21 at Homer City Hall.

  • Parks and Recreation Commission meets at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 21 at Homer City Hall.

  • Kachemak Bay Research Reserve holds a free Halloween discovery lab, "Creepies and Crawlies," from 3-5 p.m. Oct. 21 at the Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center.

  • A square and contra dance is at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 23 at West Homer Elementary School. Rich Kleinleder calls dances to music by the Spit City Slickers. Bring clean, soft-soled shoes for dancing. Beginners welcome. Admission is $6, with kids under 16 free.

  • Otter Beach Educational Center holds a fund-raiser dinner and auction from 5-8:30 p.m. Oct. 23 at the Homer Elks Lodge. Two Sisters provides dinner, with entertainment by Suzuki violin students and the Homer High School Swing Choir. Door prizes include a week's stay at a Cabo San Lucas, Baja, Mexico, resort. Tickets are $8 adults, $5 for children ages 7-12, children under 6 are free.
