Pet of the Week

"Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens, brown paper packages tied up with strings ..." What are your favorite things? If kittens aren't on your list, maybe you haven't seen a kitten lately.

Their eyes are round, their whiskers are long, and their paws are constantly pouncing, prancing and playing. Kittens can warm the cockles of our hearts. There is a nice group of young felines at the shelter awaiting good homes males and females, all different sizes, shapes and colors.

If you'd like to adopt a pet, call or stop by the Animal Shelter at its temporary location at the old chip pile on the Homer Spit. The shelter is open seven days a week, 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. Call 235-3141, e-mail pow@homeranimalshelter.com, or visit the shelter's Web site at www.homeranimals.com.
