Sirius, a 2-year-old black Labrador retriever, is a star. Like the Dog Star in the constellation Canis Major -- that's Big Dog -- he shines bright. Sirius loves being around kids and other dogs and going for rides. If you would like to adopt a pet, call or stop by the animal shelter across from the Public Works off the Sterling Highway. The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday, noon-5 p.m. Call 235-3141 for information.
