Don Young will speak at the Anchor River Inn at 1 p.m. Monday. At the Anchor Point Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Wednesday, the guest speakers will be Gary Stevens and Paul Seaton.

An election for the board of directors is coming up. Anyone interested in being on the board is asked to call 235-2600.
Thanks to everyone who attended the chamber’s 18th birthday party. Lots of prizes were won; Gene Lavin was the split the pot winner of $125. Dan Sullivan provided live music and did a great job. Everybody had a great time.
Anchor Point Senior Citizen Center
Dinners are on Thursdays and bingo begins at 7 p.m. Fridays.
Library
The library will be doing a fundraiser at 7 p.m. Nov. 18 at the Anchor Point Senior Center. Mary and Arthur Griffith will be doing the play “Love Letters” and dessert will be served at intermission. There will be raffles and door prizes. The cost is $8 for singles or $15 for couples. The Griffiths did the play at Pier One several seasons ago and it was well received. If anyone would like to donate a cake for the evening, please let Lora at the library know.
Community Emergency Response Team
There will be a fire suppression class from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the fire hall. The instructor for this class will be fire chief Joe Kent. Carolyn Roderick will teach ICS-100 and CERT organization from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 28 at the senior center. There will be a disaster psychology class from 2-4 p.m. Oct. 29 with instructors Carolyn Roderick and June Picard.
VFW Post 10221
Sign-up for the Friday night pool league is at 6:45 p.m. and pool begins at 7 p.m. Saturday, beginning at 4 p.m., will be the first Timmons Catfish Fry with plenty of good old-fashioned southern cooking. Karaoke with Tom will start around 9 p.m. This will be an action-packed evening. Members and guests are welcome.
