The skirting on the building is up. The chamber building is all lit up and awaiting the holidays.
Anchor Point Senior Citizen Center
Thursday night dinner is served at 6 p.m. Cost is $5 for members and $7 for nonmembers. Friday night is bingo, starting at 7 p.m. The bazaar will be from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 4 at Chapman School. This is a great time to do some Christmas shopping.
Chapman School
The school is still selling Halloween raffle tickets. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5. There are many prizes to be given away.
There is no school Thursday and Friday because of parent-teacher conferences. Saturday is the big Halloween carnival from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
The school’s first basketball game is Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.: Nikolavesk vs. Chapman at Chapman.
Community Emergency Response Team
An ICS-100 CERT organization session is scheduled for Saturday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Anchor Point Senior Center. Instructor Carolyn Roderick will be in charge of this session. Sunday from 2-4 p.m. is the disaster psychology session with instructors Carolyn Roderick and June Picard. At 9 a.m. Nov. 4, there will be the drill with the fire department and Alaska State Troopers. CERT graduation and critique will follow the drill at the fire hall. VFW Post 10221
Thanks to all who donated good eats to the catfish fry last Saturday. It was a great turnout. Pool nights are on Friday. Participants are asked to sign up by 6:45 p.m. so the tournament can start by 7 p.m. Monday is football night and dollar tacos. Saturday is the Halloween Party, and there will be a costume contest. Members and guests are welcome.
