Absence makes the heart grow fonder of NFL action and, in the Picker’s case, improves his chances.

After watching little football last week — not even (gasp!) ESPN — the Picker managed an 8-6 Week 7 performance that tied with several contestants.

But since no one got nine or more right, the Picker can hold off that second job to pay for prizes one more week.

I’d say ‘better luck next time,’ but I’d be lying. It’s just so nice here on top right now.

Speaking of loftiness, how good is it to be a Manning these days.

First Peyton’s team remains unbeaten, and now his little bro, Eli, led his team back from a big deficit against the Denver Donkeys (that’s how they played in the second half, and I’m a huge fan) for a big Giants win.
