Jennifer Clark and Leonard Van Sandt
Brian Quinn strummed "Here Comes My Girl" as the bride walked the aisle. Jenn then presented a gift to Lenn as she performed American Sign Language to "When You Say Nothing At All" as sung by Rachel Hollander.
Patricia Garrett and Fran Van Sandt were each given a red rose symbolizing the love and respect that Jenn and Lenn hold toward their mothers.
Jenn and Lenn wished to blend the families into one by incorporating a sand ceremony. The children and parents were represented by a different color of sand that they consecutively poured into a glass container, resulting in the beauty each of them individually brings to the new family. The family dynamics started to play out as the oldest child got grounded for going out of turn.
Custom written vows and a kiss started the life of happiness that Jenn and Lenn promised to one another. Meeting at a state softball tournament 10 years ago, the couple said they understand the offense and defensive moves they will need to be the winning Van Sandt team.
Friends and family provided homemade lasagna and fresh salads. Gina Ashman ensured the logistics of the evening's plan and safety were upheld. Flowers for the wedding were arranged by Christie Beckmann and Courtney McCabe. Music throughout the evening was chosen and arranged by LaVerne Neimi. Jeremy Hinshaw photographed the wedding. Kym McKenzie made the cake.
Jenn and Lenn exited amongst bubbles, "Go Lakers" hollers and the clanging of Aces Cowbells. The newlyweds shared their first summer fishing throughout Alaska. "The honeymoon will never end as we continue to celebrate our good loving affirmations that will outshine a bazillion years," the couple said.
Dale Van Sandt officiated the ceremony, which was interpreted by Rachel Hollander. Bridesmaids included Jessica Clark, Andria Adoor, Brittney Van Sandt and Gretchen Taylor. Groomsmen were Shawn Van Sandt, Larry Van Sandt, Dennis Miller and Jesse Leroy Hayden. The flower girl was Hailey LeeAnn Van Sandt.
