The Marine Trades Committee of the Homer Chamber of Commerce meets at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 11 at the chamber building. Call 235-7740.
The American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Homer Elks and other organizations sponsor a Veterans Day Parade and Memorial starting at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 11 at Homer High School. The parade proceeds down Heath Street to Pioneer Avenue, Main Street and the Sterling Highway to the Gen. Simon A. Bolivar Jr. Veterans Memorial at the Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center for a short service. A lunch follows at noon at the American Legion Post 16 at Mile 2.5 East End Road.
Kachemak Nordic Ski Club holds its next general meeting from 6-8 p.m. Nov. 11 at Captain's Coffee on Pioneer Avenue. Kyle Lints presents a slide show from his adventure last summer crossing the Harding Ice Field.
The Kachemak Emergency Service Area board meets at 7 p.m. Nov. 11 at the borough office, 206 E. Pioneer Ave.
The Alaska State Troopers hold a public meeting on the move of the trooper post to Anchor Point from 6-7 p.m. Nov. 16 at Homer High School. Trooper Capt. Tom Bowman and Sgt. Jim Hibpshman will attend the meeting.
The Homer Foundation holds its annual meeting at 6 p.m. Nov. 17 in the Harbor Room at Land's End Resort. A no-host dinner follows. Anyone wishing to join the dinner should call Joy Steward at 235-0541 for reservations.
A Social Security Administration representative visits from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 18 at the Homer Senior Center. Call (800) 772-1213.
