If you'd like to adopt a pet, call or stop by the Animal Shelter at its temporary location at the old chip pile on the Homer Spit. The shelter is open seven days a week, 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. Call 235-3141, e-mail pow@homeranimalshelter.com or visit the shelter's Web site at www.homeranimals.com.
Do you occasionally get urges to go out to the backyard in your T-shirt and yell "Stellllllaaa!" in your most soulful voice? Then you need to adopt this beautiful 2-year-old purebred malamute. The Alaskan malamute is named after the Mahlemuts, who settled along the shores of Kotzebue Sound. Stella will give you plenty of chance to call out her name as she loves to play fetch and have fun. She is current on her vaccinations and is well-behaved in the house.
