He was born Oct. 7, 1970, in Portland, Ore., and moved to the Homer and Anchor Point area in 1984. He went to Homer Middle School and Nikolaevsk High School. He moved with his wife and stepson to Tennessee in 2001. He enjoyed playing basketball and riding snowmachines and ATVs. He also loved to cook. His family said, "Stephen loved his family and friends and was loved in return. He will be missed."
Mr. Peters is survived by his wife, Bobby Lyn, and stepson, Gordon, of Sweetwater, Tenn.; mother Cathy Carpenter, of Manteca, Calif.; father Stephen Leroy Peters and stepmother Pennie Peters; brothers and sisters Tim Butzler and Christian Anderson of California; and sister Teresa, serving in the military.
