MistyAnn Valerie Brown, 29, died Nov. 7, 2009. She was born Dec. 10, 1979, at South Peninsula Hospital to Rita and Warren Brown.

She was raised and went to school in Seldovia, attending Susan B. English School from kindergarten till graduating high school. She was quiet and unassuming until she hit the basketball court where she excelled and rained terror on opposing teams.

After high school she attended college for half a year in Montana, but being an Alaska girl through and through she returned to her state and lived in Anchorage and Cordova.

She worked in various restaurants, mostly as a cook, which she really enjoyed. She commercially fished since a child, and could outwork most. Nothing scared her and she always had a mischievous grin.

She left behind her parents, Buck and Rita Brown; her brother Matthew; sisters Jacquelyn and MaryAnn; dog Oreo; many aunts and uncles; grandmothers and a grandfather; cousins; and a new nephew, Gaius. She also leaves behind the people in Seldovia, who loved her, too.
