The Alaska Board of Education holds its regular business meeting through a teleconference starting at 8:30 a.m. at the Legislative Information Office, 345 W. Sterling Highway. Testimony will be taken. Call 235-7878.

The Kachemak Emergency Service Area Board meets at 7 p.m. in the borough office at 206 E. Pioneer Ave.

Town Square Task Force meets at 7 p.m. at Homer City Hall.

Kachemak Bay Advisory Planning Commission meets at 7 p.m. at the Kachemak Community Center

Vessels of Hope presents the Thursday Dialogues from 7-9 p.m. at the Community Resource Center, 182 E. Pioneer Ave. Kammi Matson facilitates "Independent Media Center for Homer?", a discussion of the need for a news center that is not corporate sourced. Call 235-6642.

Parks and Recreation Commission meets at 7:30 p.m. at Homer City Hall.

The Community Rivers Planning Coalition holds its general business meeting at 7 p.m. at the Chapman School Library. Call 235-8177, ext. 5.

Friday, Nov. 22

Eric Wohlforth and Ira Perman of the Alaska Humanities Forum present a discussion of the Alaska 20/20 program from 5:30-7:30 p.m. as part of the Pratt Museum's "Community Conversations" series. Deland Anderson facilitates. Call 235-8635.

Saturday, Nov. 23

Faith Lutheran Church holds its annual Lutefisk Dinner starting at 6:30 p.m. at the church. The menu includes Swedish meatballs, pickled herring, rice pudding, Scandinavian cookies and lutefisk, "the cod which passeth all understanding," as King Olaf of Norway described it. Tickets are $15 adults, $7 for high school students and $5 for children up to eighth grade. Call 235-7600.

A work party to install the new rope at the Ohlson Mountain Rope Tow starts at 10 a.m. Call 235-SNOW (235-7669).

Sunday, Nov. 24

Cindy Koplin speaks on "The Importance of Gratefulness" at 12:30 p.m. at the regular meeting of the Unitarian/Universalists at the Kachemak Center.

The Garden Club meets from 2-4 p.m. at Homer City Hall.

Monday, Nov. 25

City Council Committee of the Whole meets at 4 p.m. followed by the regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. at Homer City Hall.
