Nutcracker Ballet

Tickets for the 3 p.m. show on Dec. 4 are $11 general admission, $6 for youth 18 and younger. Tickets for all other performances are $17 general admission, $12 for Homer Council on the Arts members and $8 for youth 18 and younger. Tickets are for sale at the council, the Homer Bookstore, Etude Studio and River City Books in Soldotna.

Festival of Gingerbread

judging and presentations Sunday, Dec. 12 at 2 p.m., Pratt Museum

The Pratt Museum's third annual Festival of Gingerbread will soon open in the lower level of the museum. To enter your gingerbread or sponsor a house, call 235-8635 or stop by the museum. Prizes will be awarded to bakers in each category by a panel of judges. Categories are: group and individual, adult, 13 to 17 years, 12 years old and under, family and professional baker.

Kachemak Heritage Land Trust Annual Auction and Dinner.

7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 3, Homestead Restaurant

A fund-raiser for KHLT, the event includes a gourmet dinner of prime rib, Alaska scallops, select wines and desserts. A silent and live auction is held for bear viewing trips, Kenai Fjords tours, Kenai River rafting, fishing charters, local art and memorabilia from Clarence "Poopdeck" Platt, including jugs of raspberry wine and 78-rpm vinyl records. Tickets are $100 a person sold only in advance. Call 235-5263 for reservations.

Nutcracker Faire

The Nutcracker Faire will be held at the Homer High School with more than 100 vendors selling a variety of hand-crafted items as well as food. Santa will also be on hand. Call 235-4288 for more information.
