The Homer Foundation is producing a full color photo essay book on the Homer and Kachemak Bay area. The book will function both as a fund-raising and an outreach tool for the foundation, while at the same time celebrating the beauty and uniqueness of this place we call home.
The foundation is looking to Alaska's photographic community to support the foundation's mission and assist us in this endeavor by submitting photographs for consideration. An estimated 60 photographs are needed. There will be a small honorarium for each selected photograph. Full credits will be given. It is the foundation's intent to produce 5,000 copies of a high-quality book that will provide great visibility for those selected for inclusion.
The review process will continue through Wednesday. The foundation is looking primarily for scenic color photos, but will also consider dynamic black and white photos. Some photos showing human activity could be included as well as a limited number of "town" shots, those things that say, "this is Homer," or, "this is what we do here."
The Homer Foundation is a nonprofit, tax exempt organization enhancing the quality of life for the citizens of the southern Kenai Peninsula by promoting philanthropic and charitable activities. For more information on the Homer Foundation visit www.homerfund.org.
