Throughout the day we can experience rain, sleet and snow, and then sun might just decide to make an appearance. This is the kind of weather that seems to breed colds, flu and many other inconvenient ailments.
It is extremely important that school children, teenagers, and the elderly maintain good eating habits, drink plenty of fluids and get the proper rest in order to ward off those marauding germs floating around.
There will be no chamber of commerce luncheon Thursday, because of Thanksgiving. The next chamber luncheon will be Dec. 1 with guest speaker Jack Blackwell with State Parks. All luncheon meetings are held at the Anchor River Inn at noon.
Anchor Point Seniors still have tickets available for the 2004 Holiday Extravaganza raffle. The prizes are $2,500, first; $1,000, second; $500, third; $200, fourth: and $100, fifth. The tickets are $10, and the drawing will be Dec. 9, in plenty of time to do Christmas shopping with the winnings.
The Anchor Point community is happy to welcome home Pastor Dick Goodwin and his wife, Karen. Pastor Dick's fight with cancer is not over yet, but he can continue his treatments locally and be with his congregation and the people of Anchor Point.
Joanne Kyllonen stopped by the Anchor River Inn Store recently to chat with me. She is looking good and has a wonderfully positive attitude in her battle against cancer. She is still in Anchorage but just needed to get home for a spell, and touch base with family and friends in Anchor Point.
