The Pratt Museum Board of Directors announced last month that design of its new building and site won't include the old building. Site selection and design for the new Pratt Museum building moved ahead following a workshop last month. Museum Director Diane Converse noted the historical and emotional ties people in Homer have to the old building.

"This was an extremely difficult decision for the board to make," she said.

The Pratt board and staff will seek community help in recycling and reusing old building materials. One idea is to put the boat display building on the old building site to reuse the foundation.
