Homer resident Ms. Mildred Sider, 97, died Nov. 29, 2010, at South Peninsula Hospital Long Term Care in Homer.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Dec. 3, 2010, at St. John's Catholic Church, 238 Jenny Way in Homer. Father Andrew Sensinig, O.M.I., will officiate. She will be buried at the Hickerson Memorial Park Cemetery following the funeral services.

Ms. Sider was born May 11, 1913, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to John and Mary Sider. She grew up in Brooklyn and worked in Manhatten as a secretary.

She is survived by her sister, Madelyn Sider of Homer; niece, Gloria Stuart and her husband, Doug, and family of Homer; niece, Karen Zajchowski, and her husband, Ed; and many grand nieces and nephews.
