Town Center Development Committee meets from 6-8 p.m. at Homer City Hall.

The Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center on the Sterling Highway opens with a community celebration from noon-5 p.m. Dec. 13. Events include music, gourmet goodies, a showing of "Journey of the Tiglax," a book signing with Elaine Rhode and her new book on Alaska's wildlife refuges and a reception with the artists who contributed to the building.
