Rasmuson Foundation's board of directors met in Anchorage last week and awarded more than $8 million in grants and investments for nonprofit projects in communities stretching from Ketchikan to Togiak. The dollar amount of the awards is the highest since July 2008 and reflects a moderate rebound in assets available for new projects, according to a press release issued by the foundation Dec. 2. On the Kenai Peninsula, the Seldovia Village Tribe was awarded $280,000 to construct a wellness center in Homer. For more information, visit the web at www.rasmuson.org.
