Today I've sent $40 to Pier One Theatre. The $1/year the non-profit has paid for leasing the big ol' red building on the Spit for the past 40 years has been an overcharge. When the community tries to calculate the gift that Pier One Theatre has made to our families, friends, visitors and businesses, well, $1/year lease is just too much. It doesn't equate.

Many Homerites exposed to Pier One Theatre have gone on to be self-confident people who contribute to the world in ways that can never by measured by a sales tax, either.
