BEST PIN 'EM BET: While the Mariners cross-country ski team is competing up at Kincaid Park in Anchorage, you can catch the wrestling team in town. At 5:30 p.m. Friday, wrestling duals with Nikiski, Kodiak and Palmer run at Homer High School. Then at 10 a.m. Saturday, it's the Homer wrestling tournament. Go Mariners!
BEST QUAINT ETHNIC FOOD: Homer old-timers know that it's not the holidays until Faith Lutheran Church holds its annual Lutefisk Dinner. That's right, the cod that surpasseth all understanding returns. Dinner starts at 6 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $15 for adults, $7 for high school students and $5 for children through grade 8.
