Workshops focusing on oceanic zoo (animal) and phyto (plant) plankton - organisms at the mercy of the tides, currents and waves have been offered collaboratively by the Pratt Museum, Kachemak Bay Campus and Kachemak Bay Research Reserve. The workshops in Homer were part of a year-long project, inviting visual artists, poets, musicians, dancers, filmmakers and thespians to create ocean-inspired and-or ocean plankton-inspired artwork for a spring 2005 exhibit at the Pratt Museum, events and performances in other venues as well.
Using microscopes and video equipment, participants viewed plants and animals the naked eye cannot see. The exhibition will be installed on April 4 and program opportunities will continue through April, May and June.
