On Dec. 4, Hospice of Homer held the drawing for its Holiday Shopping Spree raffle. Jan Suoja was the lucky winner. Jan won more than $700 in gift certificates from 15 Homer merchants3 Art Shop Gallery, Forget-Me-Not Flowers, Barb's Video, Kachemak Bowl, Bear Claw Bakery, Safeway Company, Spenard Builders Supply, North Wind Home Collections, Total Office Products, NOMAR, Grog Shop, K-Bay Caffe, The Bookstore, Fat Olives Restaurant and Ulmer's Drug and Hardware.

Thanks to all of the volunteers who sold tickets, to the Art Shop Gallery for hosting the drawing and to hospice board members for organizing and energizing the entire effort.

And finally, we thank you, the people of this wonderful community, for buying raffle tickets to support hospice care in this area. Your contributions allow us to provide support and practical assistance to individuals and their families who are experiencing a life-threatening illness or the transition of dying.
