Ms. Hodgson was born February 4, 1925 to Cornelius and Helen Faust in Minneapolis, Minn. She received her GED and attended one year of college. She became a resident of Alaska in 1984, living in Kenai and Homer. She was a homemaker and belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary, as well as many other charity organizations. She enjoyed quilting, baking, dancing, fishing, traveling and sewing in general.
“Margaret will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was a quiet woman and loved to listen to people talk and never stopped being interested in what other people did in the world. She loved to travel and meet new people. Though she never got around to visiting exotic places in the world, she always thought that she might get around to it one day. She was a good angler and was an Alaskan at heart. She moved to Alaska 22 years ago and immediately liked the people, freedom and the uniqueness of the Alaskan way of life. She was a Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans, a long-time member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 20 and a member of Eight & Forty Veterans Organization. Several years ago, she had joined the Red Hat Society and at one point had been a member of Wyoming Chapter of National Organization for Women,” her family said.
Margaret is survived by her daughters, Margaret Mendel, Claudia Jones, Susan Kelso, and Patricia Little; a sister, a brother, four sons-in-law, nine grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
