Based on a true story, this crowd-pleasing feature follows a team of gay, transvestite and transsexual volleyball players as they compete for a national volleyball championship in Thailand. The broad comedy and feel-good vibe of this film made it the second-highest grossing movie in Thai cinema history. The film was to show in November, but the film was delayed. The film is free, but donations are accepted.

Audubon Christmas Bird Count

8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Islands and Ocean Visitor Center

The purpose of the count is to identify and count all birds on Saturday. A separate record of all birds seen three days before and three days after will be logged. Volunteers will be organized into teams to cover specific areas within the Homer count circle, a 15-mile diameter circle with its center in Mud Bay. A $5 donation will be accepted to help with publishing the results. Call 235-7260 or 235-3487 for more information.

The ladies of American Legion Unit 16 Auxiliary provide gift wrapping through Dec. 23 and from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Christmas Eve. Funds raised benefit veteran's programs.
